Birdyard Bar Ceiling

Already an established bar in the heart of Vienna, Birdyard needed a change of design. The existing drawings on the walls displayed a landscape of birds and flowers. The exisiting space had cold lightning, an lacked warmth in furniture, colors, light and distribution of the seating. The ceiling was naked and high which gave the space a sense of an entrance hall.

We suggested a hanging sculpture produced with termo-forming PVC sheets which would, through their volume and branching, seemingly lower the ceiling, create depth and shadow, creating a moment of magic.

The sculpture is in fact an abstracted nest, lit up by spotlights, creating a play of shadow and light. The sculpture would extend through all spaces, including the bar and entry. The new furniture is warm and curvy, creating circular and intimate seating islands, while still enabilng visual contact between the guests.
