Syrup II
Like a foreign object, the dressing-room-in-disguise brings a feeling of uncertainty. It is a metal sculpture with an entrance. Its curved body offers glimpses of feet, of the upper body, and of customers in passage.
From the front it looks large and full, enclosing the whole room, yet in the back it opens up in an elegant curve. The traditional pattern of the wooden floors found in most Viennese buildings is transferred to the walls creating a continuous atmosphere of light and color.
The elegance of tradition is only lightly ruptured with a line of mirrors that lies underneath the hooks and brackets. The back wall of the store is in a muffled aluminum, giving a sense of dreaminess.
